A quarterly event, free and open to the community, Artrageous Fridays is committed to the thriving arts and cultural scene of Columbia, Missouri. We strive to unite and celebrate those organizations focused on the experience and prosperity of the arts. As you make your way along the self-guided art crawl, rejoice in the preservation and innovation of our historical Downtown and North Village Arts District, the installations and sculptures funded in part by the Office of Cultural Affairs, and the streetscapes designed by local artisans.
The continued growth of Artrageous Fridays and its participants is a testament to the devotion and support the City of Columbia and its citizens share for the arts. Limitless in their expression, local businesses and artists will expose you to photography, dance, music, sculpture, drawing, painting, pottery, jewelry, design, movement, culinary expression and more! Ever-inventive and exciting, each Artrageous Friday promises awe and inspiration.
Come support and interact in the arts as you discover, appreciate, and purchase the cultural offerings of Columbia, Missouri.
Kate Gunn, Executive Director
In an effort to liven and beautify the space between our Artrageous Members/Venues, Artrageous Fridays will coordinate and promote the budding concept of ‘guerrilla art’. These spontaneous, organic, creative & temporary art installations will enhance the excitement and appeal of Artragoeus Fridays allowing community members to display their works in parking lots & alleyways, on buildings & sidewalks, and even places in between.
If you are interested in participating please contact Kate for more information; katelgunn@gmail.com
& keep your eyes peeled during Artrageous for art outside the traditional parameters!
